The road to the Age Group CrossFit Games goes through the Magic City!

  • Step 1: Quarterfinals = Your Qualifier

    We’ll use the official CrossFit Games Quarterfinals leaderboard as the pool of eligible athletes.

  • Step 2: Top Athletes Get the Invite

    Starting from the top of the leaderboard, we’ll invite athletes by rank until each age group division is filled.

  • Step 3: Accept Your Invite & Compete

    Compete May 1-3 in the Magic City to earn your spot at the 2026 Age Group CrossFit Games.

What is the field size for each age group at the Magic City CrossFit Semifinal?

  • 35-39: 42 spots 
  • 40-44: 42 spots 
  • 45-49: 28 spots
  • 50-54: 28 spots
  • 55-59: 28 spots
  • 60-64: 14 spots
  • 65-69: 7 spots
  • 70+: 7 spots

Who is eligible to qualify for the Magic City CrossFit Semifinal?

After Quarterfinals, the top 400 Masters athletes in the 35-54 divisions, and top 300 in the 55+ divisions, will advance to the Semifinals stage of competition. 

Who qualifies to the CrossFit Games from the Magic City CrossFit Semifinal?

  • 35-39: Top 3
  • 40-44: Top 3
  • 45-49: Top 2
  • 50-54: Top 2
  • 55-59: Top 1
  • 60-64: Top 1
  • 65-69: Top 1
  • 70+: Top 1

When and where is the event?

May 1-3, 2026 at the Birmingham Crossplex and Bill Harris Arena (they are the same in the same building complex).

How many events can I expect?

5-6 events over the 3 days.

If I qualify for Semifinals can I just sign up for this competition?

No. The Masters Semifinal is invitation-only. Athletes are invited based on their Quarterfinals leaderboard rank.

If I qualify for Semifinals, when will I receive my invite?

After CrossFit finalizes the official Quarterfinals leaderboard, our team will begin sending invitations via email—starting from the top of the rankings. Athletes are invited in order of their Quarterfinal rank until each age division is filled. Once invited, athletes will have 48 hours to accept or decline their spot.

Do I have to live in a certain part of the world to receive an invitation?

No. Invitations are based on the final Quarterfinals leaderboard placement, not geography. Athletes are invited in order of finish — first place receives the first invite, second place receives the next, and so on — until each age division field is filled.

*Magic City Games reserves the exclusive
right, at its sole discretion, to revoke, extend, adjust, or reallocate any invitation.

How do backfills work?

If an athlete declines or doesn’t respond within 48 hours, their spot will be backfilled to the next eligible athlete on the Quarterfinals leaderboard. Backfills will continue in order of rank until all divisions are full.

Will there be hotel blocks available?

Yes. The block is for April 30 - May 3. Please make sure your reservation is in this date range in order to take advantage of the discount.
