Is this qualifier for individuals and teams?
The qualifier is for both individuals and teams aiming to qualify for the Magic City Games. If you qualify, you will have the option to either "accept" or "decline" your invitation. If you are not sure if you want to compete as an individual or on a team, you can sign-up for both and decide once invitations go out.
What Individual divisions will be available?
When registering, you will have the following options for each gender:
- RX (Top 32 Advance)
- Intermediate (Top 32 Advance)
- Masters 35-39 (Top 8 Advance)
- Masters 40-44 (Top 8 Advance)
- Masters 45-49 (Top 8 Advance)
- Masters 50+ (Top 8 Advance)
What Team divisions will be available?
When registering, you will have the following options for each same sex pair (M/M & F/F):
- RX (Top 16 Advance)
- Intermediate (Top 16 Advance)
- Novice (Top 8 Advance)
Do I have to do the qualifier workout with my teammate?
No, they can be done separately. Team scores will be the combination of both partners’ scores.
How many workouts will there be?
There are two weeks with multiple scores.
- Week 1: January 16-21
- Week 2: January 23-28
What are the qualifier workouts like?
Similar to the Open, the qualifier workouts are designed to accommodate all fitness levels. These workouts are programmed to test overall capacity. The workouts will be appropriate for the respective division.
At the in-person event, the workout loads and skills will be tailored to each division.
When will the workouts be released?
The workouts will be released each respective Friday at 6PM CST on our Live In-Gym Show streamed on YouTube. The workouts will also be posted on social media and sent out via email.
How and when will I submit my scores?
Scores are due each respective Wednesday at 7PM CST via Competition Corner.
If I’m between age groups, which division should I register for?
Age divisions are based on your age as of the first day of the Championship event — July 18, 2026.
For example, if you turn 40 on or before July 18, 2026, you’ll compete in the 40–44 age group during the Qualifier (not the 35–39 division).
Do I need a judge?
Judges are not required, but athletes are encouraged to use a judge.
Will I need to submit a video with my score?
Yes.
Will I be provided a scorecard?
Yes. You can find it on our website under the "Qualifier" tab once the workout is released.
Where will I submit my score?
You will submit your weekly score on Competition Corner. Score Submission Guidelines
Is the qualifier leaderboard blind?
Yes. Each week the leaderboard will remain blind, meaning submitted scores will not be visible until after that week's submission deadline.
How do I increase my chances to qualify?
You can register for multiple divisions. For example, if your goal is to compete in the RX division but you're unsure if you'll qualify, you can also register for the Intermediate division. You’ll receive an invite based on the division(s) you qualify for. In the case you qualify for both divisions, you can accept the division you would like to compete in.

Do teams and individuals complete the same workouts?
Yes — workouts follow the same overall structure, with minor adjustments by division to ensure movements and loads are appropriate for each level.
